About Our Business

Who We Are

As I learned  many years ago in school,  accounting is the language of business. Before I finished my training at Virginia Tech in1981 with a bachelor of science in accounting, I had been an owner and operator of two small businesses, one involved in retail/wholesale, and the other in the restaurant industry. Neither one of these business ventures was very successful. The reason I finished my training in accounting was to learn what makes a business "tick" and how to be successful. I can relate well to most of my small business clients as I was once in their shoes.

Accountants can be their clients most trusted advisor. Who else other than your accoutant knows so much about your business and its finances? Not only do we want to fulfill that role, but go well beyond. We want to be a business mentor.  We want to relate to each of our entrepreneurs and talk to them not as an auditor or tax analyst, but in language that they can understand.

We also want our clients to feel they can call us whenever the need arises. We realize that important business decisions sometimes need to be made on a moment's notice. We want to be available to give them adequate counsel and make them fully aware of the impact of their decision's on their businesses.

Experience

Who has not heard the expression "experience is the best teacher". Would it not be better if you could learn from someone else's bad experience instead of going through the same yourself? We have been counseling businesses for twenty years. We know many of the potential pit falls businesses can and do go through year after year as they progress through different stages. Sometimes a brief consult with us about certain issues or pending decisions can save our clients many hours of work or thousands of dollars in needless money spent.

Let us help you and your business thrive. We welcome challenges...not run away from them!
